There are some requests that require prior experience, and for these we welcome requests to -tag-along’ so that new volunteers can learn the ropes. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you’d like to tag-along.
Homecheckers are so important in helping rescue dogs, cats and other animals find safe, caring new homes.

Animal Rescue Fostering Needed
Foster homes seem harder to find than ever at the moment so if you could open to your home to a homeless dog, cat or small furry animal then please take look at our Fostering needed section (divided in to urgent and non-urgent requests).
A foster home can be a real lifesafer for many rescues, helping their animal get some TLC in a happy home environment which they’re usually used to, instead of having to go in to kennels which can be nervewracking for a lot of animals if they’ve not had experience of that before, and which are incredibly costly for small rescues doing their best on a small budget.
Animal fostering can be incredibly fun and rewarding and we’re in desperate need of more people helping to care for rescue animals.
Animal rescue volunteering on Facebook
You can work with us via the RHU Facebook group – http://facebook.com/groups/RescueHelpersUnite – where we post lots of our animal rescue volunteering requests. On there you can offer your help, sign up for Facebook notifications of help needed in your area (we’ll ‘tag’ you in local posts) and chat with other RHU volunteers and rescuers.
