Do you neuter all animals before leaving for forever homes where applicable? Please provide details of your neutering policy: Yes, we neuter animals before they leave for their forever homes if their age permits. If not, we ask the new owners to neuter them at the right age, by contract. If the animal is too old to get neutered, we ask of them not to be bred.
(*If any animals are not neutered before rehoming due to age/health etc. please provide specific details on your policies, timescales for neutering by the new home, how this is checked by the rescue etc.)
Do you always home check?: Yes
Do you always vaccinate? (if applicable): Yes
Do you always worm/flea treat? (if applicable): Yes
Do you microchip? (if applicable): Yes
Do you provide insurance when rehoming to new owners?: No
Will you always take the animal back no matter what? If not please explain under what circumstances etc: Yes, I provide RBU. In some cases, I might be overwhelmed with my job and not enough time to dedicate to a pet, therefore I will ask my friends to lend a helping hand.
Rough ‘donation’ required per animal, please also explain what this involves: £176 as adoption fee, which covers transport from Romania to UK £150 and £26 worming, vaccinations, microchip, passport. With this donation, we can save another pet or cover medical debts
Can RHU staff/volunteers contact you about animals needing rescue backup that have been posted in our ‘backup needed’ section?: At the moment, only emergencies because I am not in the best position, time wise, to dedicate to an animal. From next year onwards, with a new job on board, I will probably have more time to concentrate on fostering, therefore I will let you know when I know more. I do enjoy fostering, especially working with issue dogs – training and rehabilitating them to help them become adoptable.
How long (approx.) has the rescue been active?: 7 years
Other information (optional):We are a small rescue group, formed of me and 2 of my Romanian friends who live in Romania and save animals off the streets. We are trying our very best to get them ready for new homes.
